Who We Are

Group Homes are in essence – HOMES.  They are places of residence.  These homes have people who endure everyday battles in an interconnected way.  We rely on each other to bear the challenges that developmental disabilities can bring.  This is the main focus of American Health Care Services, Inc.

Every resident in our group homes are unique.  We recognize them individually and preserve their rights as patients at American Health Care Services, Inc.  Like each one of us, they have personal goals too.  We seek ways to help them fulfill those goals in regaining or learning to develop independence.  Our programs are aimed at rehabilitating our clients into their own homes, to live with their families and ultimately become valuable members of the community that they belong to.

Our Health Services Agency implements programs that restore or enhance social and recreational function.  The group homes we operate provide a safe, stable and human environment where residents can grow into their fullest potential.  We start with basic self-care skills and gradually progress to behavioral management, and towards the highest level of independence that their mental capacity permits.

American Health Care Services, Inc. provides Medicaid Waiver Services under the Department of Disabilities Services, Government of the District of Columbia.

A family member or a friend may find our group homes to be safe retreats that promote their ideal habilitation.  Let us help you! Tell us how!
